Agrian announced today it is responding to the Red Cross’s call for aid in the Nepal relief efforts with a $10,000 contribution to the Nepal Region Earthquake Fund. The 7.9 magnitude earthquake that hit Nepal on April 25 has created an urgent need for large-scale humanitarian relief.

Nishan Majarian, CEO of Agrian, said the tragedy caused deep concern throughout the company as Agrian has eight employees who are based in Nepal and another employee of Nepalese descent based in Seattle, Washington. He said there was a tremendous sense of relief felt by all when Agrian learned its Nepal-based employees and their families were safe.

“We’re also deeply saddened by the loss and destruction,” added Majarian. “It will be a long road to recovery and the people of Nepal will rely heavily on Red Cross and other charitable organizations that are moving so quickly to help.”
